Hello family,

I’m Melvin “Mel-Mel” Vail, Jr. (great-grandson of Robert & Daisy Shelton, grandson of Ruby Shelton and the son of Melvin “Ned” & Lucy Vail, Sr.) and I maintain this website. In most cases you and I are cousins.

I wanted to create a space honoring Robert & Daisy and their children. Also, a place where we could reference our family history and be proud of where we came from. Hopefully, the pictures and nuggets of family information will draw the family closer together and more importantly encourage the younger generation to learn more about our family history.

I’ll keep everyone in the loop with Shelton news and from time-to-time will ask for family participation. Your participation will help preserve the legacy of Robert & Daisy Shelton.

Btw, identifying family members in the older photos can be a difficult task and not as obvious as it may seem. Therefore, to ensure the names were recorded correctly and I relied on family members who were either in the photos or who could determine the timing of the photos.
